• Ski & Snowboard in Queenstown

    Queenstown in WinterThe two closest ski & snowboard fields to Après-Ski Apartments Queenstown are Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. The best source of information on passes, equipment hire, piste maps and snow conditions is NZ SKi.

    The nearest Ski transport (bus) is 250 metres from Après-Ski Apartments & Chalet Lodge.  Buses to both Coronet Peak and to the Remarkables are very frequent every day during the main season.  Buses to Cardrona, Snow Farm and Treble Cone usualy leave first thing in the morning and return at the end of the afternoon.

    Queenstown Festivals and Events

    Queenstown has a range of festivals over the winter season.

    • The Winter Festival usually runs in June/July and includes a wide range of entertainment and activities for all age groups.
    • Gay Ski week runs in September and attracts people from all over the world.
    • In October it’s the Queenstown Jazzfest and the whole town is filled with the sounds of jazz and blues bands, often performing free outdoors and in our cafes.

    Queenstown Restaurants and Bars

    Queenstown has a wide range of different cuisines on offer but these are a few of our own favourites.

    • If seafood is your preference try the Fishbone Grill on Beach Street.
    • For a great combination of gourmet food and fine wines try Amisfield Winery & Bistro.
    • The Botswana Butchery on Marine Parade does a great variety of gourmet cuisine with the freshest of New Zealand products in a wonderful atmosphere.
    • Pier 19 on the Steamer Wharf for great lunch and dinner and relaxed ambience.

    Things to do on your day off

    • If you prefer something a bit different, Fiordland Charters provide private and unique Fiordland adventures.
      Real Journeys provide regular trips to Milford and Doubtful Sounds.
    • For something a bit more lively, try Skippers Canyon for jet-boating or white water rafting.
    • AJ Hackett provides the original bungy experience from the Nevis Bridge.
    • Golfers have a huge range of spectacular local courses to choose from.  Some of our favourites are Kelvin Heights, Millbrook, The Hills and Jacks Point.
    • Take a flightseeing tour over our beautiful mountain scenery or fly to remote glaciers and fiordland destinations with Glacier Southern Lakes and Over the Top helicopter excursions.
